A man in his 20s was injured Thursday at a construction site in Bellevue, fire officials said.
Officials with the Bellevue Fire Department said the man's fingers were stuck in an excavator at the site, in the 13900 block of NE 20th Street.
KIRO 7's Deedee Sun was on the scene, and said crews had been working to get the man's hand out of the excavator for over two and a half hours.
Crews ended up using a torch to dismantle the piece of machinery where the patient's hand was trapped, and the man was freed shortly before 6:10 p.m. and transported to a local hospital.
The patient was in stable condition at the time he was freed. It is unknown at this time the condition of the man's hand and how much was able to be saved.
